
Amrit Kaur
High School Teacher
Amrit Kaur is a high school teacher at Khalsa School Brampton where she teaches social studies to grade 10, 11, and 12 students. As a teacher, Amrit Kaur is responsible for creating and delivering lesson plans as well as evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of each student. Furthermore, she strives to ensure that the classroom environment eliminates any learning gaps that students may be experiencing. Alongside teaching, Amrit Kaur is responsible for preparing administrative documents for students and implementing classroom management policies and procedures.
Before becoming a teacher, Amrit Kaur’s passion for education and student development led her to pursue a variety of teaching opportunities. For example, as a student at the Yudh Gatka Akhara, a martial arts academy in the GTA, Amrit Kaur took the opportunity to teach beginners. In addition, she taught Kirtan, Gurbani Santhia, and Gurmukhi to youth in Brampton. While at York University, she also volunteered with ACE, a program that motivates children from disadvantaged neighbourhoods to further their education by visiting university settings and participating in seminars and workshops. As for her interests, she enjoys reading, hiking, poetry, and spending time with family.
