
Gurpreet Singh Rai

After graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School, Gurpreet Singh completed his articles and practiced at a plaintiff-side litigation firm in Toronto. Currently, he serves as in-house counsel for Desjardins General Insurance where he focuses on insurance defence litigation and takes part in every stage of the litigation process, including examinations for discovery, mediations, and pre-trial conferences. In addition, Gurpreet Singh appears at the Superior Court of Justice for a variety of interlocutory motions, provides coverage opinions, and deals with regulatory issues within Desjardins.
During his time at Osgoode Hall, Gurpreet Singh served as President of the South Asian Law Students Association, was the editor of the Transnational Legal Theory Journal, and volunteered for the Community & Legal Aid Services Program. Notably, Gurpreet Singh also spent a summer with the Innocence Project where he worked with supervisors and senior lawyers to obtain justice for the wrongly convicted. In his free time, he enjoys reading non-fiction, playing basketball and soccer with friends, watching movies, and cheering on the Toronto Raptors.
