Harman Singh Gill
Harman Singh is a senior industrial designer at ABC Technologies, a tier 1 automotive supplier of plastic solutions to OEM customers. He wears multiple hats that range from working with a team on the design process of new products, organizing tech shows, as well as contributing to the rebranding of the company. As a designer, one of his key responsibilities is to support the various business units with creative thinking solutions as well as produce quick turnaround renderings for client proposals. He works closely with his company’s research and development team on internal projects using in house capabilities to bring new concepts through fruition. This process involves market research, sketching, 3D modelling, and prototyping.
As an organizer for tech shows, he oversees the planning and implementation. This responsibility includes coordinating what will be displayed at ABC’s booth, the overall branding and layout, handling contracts, and communicating with the business units to identify a strategy to pitch to our customers. In addition, he leads the industrial design competition between Humber College and ABC Technologies. This is an annual competition that runs for 8 weeks and provides the third year students an opportunity to pitch ideas to a panel of judges at ABC Technologies. As for his interests, Harman Singh enjoys reading (currently reading Hacking Growth), amateur photography, watching movies, and spending time with family.
